Marketing/PR and Social Media Intern

Culture Shock is a NY-based media consultancy for the creative industries serving clients across the media spectrum from online video to apps. We usually work with people who are starting a venture or expanding the scope of their services into new markets. Our clients range from Vimeo, the online video sharing platform (50+ Million Unique Visitors per month) to production companies, publishers, tech firms and fine art galleries (on and offline). Current clients include Vimeo, OnTheGo, Finger Music, FTW, and Clutter Media Group.

Position Description
CSM seeks an intern to assist with the development and implementation of new online marketing strategies, creation of new marketing materials, and support for current projects and office duties. Your work with us will require you to both learn industry practices and contribute ideas during all phases of projects. Internship requires a weekly commitment of 16 hrs or two days a week. This is an unpaid internship position.

Desired Skills
The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in art and technology, possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, have strong attention to detail, a rigorous work ethic, and experience with blogging and/or social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and experience with platforms to manage multiple social media accounts. Previous experience in PR, marketing and social media a plus but not a requirement. Candidate must have a strong interest to learn new skill sets, best practices online, be a team player and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.

Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the CEO, Creative Director and Account Manager on a wide variety of projects. Responsibilities will include online research, maintaining the company website and social media networks, helping to manage image and press archives, managing online event listings calendars, assemble marketing & PR measurement reports and updating the database.

Knowledge of iWork, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, WordPress

Start date, immediately. Schedule is two days a week. 9:30am-5:30pm. Office located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn close to the Bedford L stop.

Graphic & Web Design Intern

Position Description
CSM seeks an intern to assist with the graphic design development and implementation of marketing materials including but not limited to marketing materials, press kits, infographics and data visualization for company case studies and client reports, and support for company web design as it relates to web updates and enhancing visual content, as well as graphic design needs as it relates to specific projects. Your work with us will require you to both learn industry practices and contribute ideas during all phases of projects. Internship requires a weekly commitment of 16 hrs or two days a week. This is an unpaid internship position.

Desired Skills
The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in art and technology, possess exceptional communication skills, have strong attention to detail, a rigorous work ethic, and experience with graphic design and web asset management, a basic understanding of HTML and CSS is required. Candidate must have a strong interest to learn new skill sets, best practices online, be a team player, and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.

Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the CEO, Creative Director and Account Manager on a wide variety of projects.
